Jorge Alers

Jorge is a retired US attorney, who most recently served as the CEO of the Latin America and the Caribbean Region of Dentons, the world’s largest law firm. At Dentons, Jorge also was a member of the Global Management Committee and the Global Board.

Prior to Dentons, he had a multi-faceted career, both as a practicing international corporate attorney in the United States and as the General Counsel of the Inter-American Development Bank and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (now IDB Invest).

Jorge is a dual US/Costa Rica citizen with deep roots in the Guanacaste region. He presently resides in Las Catalinas, Guanacaste.

Jorge has a deep and long-standing commitment to Costa Rica and the Guanacaste region. He previously served in the Assembly of the Costa Rica USA Foundation (CRUSA), the largest not-for-profit foundation in Costa Rica.  He presently serves on the Board of CEPIA, a community service association in Huacas, Guanacaste.  The GDFCF Board provides Jorge with an opportunity to deepen his engagement with the Guanacaste community to address critical environmental priorities in the region.
